Intergenerational learning, situated at the intersection of geriatric education and family education,is an essential path-way to orchestrate families, schools, and the society.Theoretically, intergenerational learning originates from the intergeneration-al interaction that naturally exists in human society, and continues to develop and extend in the dimensions of meaning, value and practice.Notwithstanding, the arrival of digital age has brought about new challenges for the bi-directional intergenerational inter-actions,characterized by the spatiotemporal dislocation of intergenerational knowledge sharing, the existential erosion of intergen-erational skill symbiosis, and the diminishing interactivity of the emotional link across generations.Accordingly, targeted resolu-tions are synthesized for the development of intergenerational learning. The first is to promote traditional virtues of respecting and caring for the old,and cultivate the intergenerational cultural heritage. The second is to establish community platforms for inter-generational learning to connect the time-space continuum of knowledge. The third is to develop digital content support resources to respond to the changing needs of skills. The fourth is to enhance the effective bi-directional intergenerational empowerment and strengthen intergenerational affective identification.
