Forging"Iron Red Army":A Study of Military Teaching Materials in Soviet Area Period
Military teaching materials was an important carrier for the People's Army to conduct military and personnel training.During the Soviet Area period,the problem of material sources was gradually solved through various channels such as centralized supply,translation and compilation.The contents of the materials were based on the characteristics of the Red Ar-my and the actual situation of the war,and included basic military theory,summary of military practice,and knowledge of professional and technical branches.A relatively complete system of military textbooks took shape mainly for infantry courses,covering professional and technical personnel training and local armed forces training.These teaching materials,or textbooks,which were formed in the midst of war,carry distinct characteristics of being scientific and normative,practical and perti-nent,vivid and popular.They played an important role in improving the combat effectiveness of the Red Army and forging an"Iron Red Army"with superb military qualities.
