Influence of aquatic vegetables rotation on soil property under continuous cropping of strawberry in greenhouse
To find a solution to continuous cropping obstacle of strawberry in greenhouse, the topsoil (0-15.0 cm) after strawberry cultivation for five years was treated by plowing, irrigation and planting aquatic vegetables. The mineral nutritions and microbial flora of the soils were investigated.Compared with fallowing, the treatment of plowing and irrigation reduced the available nitrogen content, nitrate content, total phosphorus content,Olsen-P content,water-soluble potassium content, soil organic matter content and the electrical conductivity (EC) of the upper soil (0-5.0 cm),and it also significantly decreased the EC,actinomycete biomass and the fungi biomass of the middle soil (5.1-10.0 cm) and the pH value of the middle soil and lower soil (10.1-15.0 cm).Compared with the treatment of plowing and irrigation, the treatment of aquatic vegetables rolation significantly reduced the total nitrogen, effective nitrogen, total phosphorus,Olsen-P,water-soluble potassium, and the organic matter contents of the middle and lower soils, and the EC of the upper and middle soils, however,it significantly improved available the Olsen-P and the soil organic matter in the upper soil, the pH value and the fungi biomass of the middle soil, and the pH value, fungi biomass and the actinomycete biomass of the lower soil.In short, aquatic vegetable crop rotation could change the physicochemical and biological properties of the topsoil, decline the contents of the available nutrients of the topsoil, and improve the pH value of soil.
