Study on the occurrence, distribution and insecticide tolerance of two invasive Liriomyza species in Jiangsu Province
Liriomyza trifolii and L.sativae are important invasive pests on horticultural and vegetable plants in China, with similar biological characteristics and serious diseases. In this study, the occurrence, distribution and damage degree of two Liriomyza species in 2014 and 2019 in Jiangsu were investigated and compared.Meanwhile, the reasons for its competition substitution in Jiangsu Province were discussed. Our result showed that L.sativae was mainly found in north-ern regions of Jiangsu but the scope of its damage was expanding in southern regions of Jiangsu.L.trifolii was distribu-ted across central and southern areas of Jiangsu, but its damage scope gradually narrowed and expanded northward to Xuzhou. The two Liriomyza species mainly harmed leguminous plants. In recent years, the damage level of Liriomyza on solanaceous crops was weakened, while the original dominant species L.trifolii on cucurbitaceae crops was gradually replaced by L.sativae.Abamectin had a good effect on the field population of Liriomyza and the insecticide sensitivity of Liriomyza in Yangzhou was significantly lower than that in Suzhou and Xuzhou. These results all indicated that compared with 2014,the distribution of Liriomyza in 2019 changed significantly, which indicated that it was necessary to strength-en monitoring and control based on the occurrence regularities and influencing factors of Liriomyza.
