The Social Mechanism of the Third Distribution:Fundamental Components and Operational Mechanisms
As a fundamental institutional arrangement, the third distribution primarily addresses the shortcomings of the first and second distributions by leveraging the role of social mechanism. While existing research acknowledges the third distribution as a resource allocation activity regulated by a social mechanism, there is a lack of exploration into the specific contents of this mechanism.A grounded theory analysis of survey data from Shanghai reveals that the social mechanism of the third distribution consists of intentions, public interests and communities, with intentions representing the supply side, public interests the demand side, and communities playing a central role in regulating social resources as the core of the social mechanism.Establishing a theoretical model for the social mechanism of the third distribution in parallel with market and administrative mechanisms,is of great significance to understand the operational mechanisms of the third distribution and fully unleash its potential.
