The geographical mobility of population is essentially a spatial reconfiguration of human capital endow-ments.The interrelationship between population mobility and modernization is examined by placing population mobility in the context of a new urbanization era centered on human beings.It is found that population mobility is related to the high-quality development of the population and the Chinese-style"Five Modernizations",and is complementary to and mutually fulfilling with the modernization process:modernization relies on the powerful force of migrants,and the achievements of modernization enhance migrants'shared richness and modernity and push forward their comprehensive and free develop-ment.Promoting the modern norms and behavior of migrants is embedded in the meaning of Chinese modernization,without which there will be no Chinese-style"five modernizations".The promotion of high-quality employment of migrant popula-tion can enrich human resources for Chinese modernization;the improvement of comprehensive quality of migrant population can raise the quality of human capital for Chinese modernization;the household service and citizenship status for migrant population can enhance the mental capital and cornerstone for Chinese modernization.
