Research on Internationalization Development of Higher Education in Australia
With the development of the internationalization of higher education in Australia,the proportion of foreign teachers and students in Australian universities,as well as the internationalization level of course content and teaching,are among the top in the world.International education has become the largest service export and the third largest export industry in the country.The development process of higher education internationalization in Australia can be divided into four periods according to the years:the period of British higher education,the period of foreign education assistance,the period of trade-oriented education,and the period of internationalization-oriented education.The policy formulation of"government-led and multi-party participation",the"demand-driven"social environment and the ideology of"educational goal guidance"influence the deep structure of the internationalization of higher education in Australia.Analyzing government policies reveals the path dependencies and key nodes in the development of higher education internationalization in Australia.Various stakeholders,including government,industry,and institutions,are involved,with government-led multi-stakeholder interest negotiations driving the process of internationalization.By summarizing the strategies for advancing internationalization in Australian higher education,including meeting national development needs,placing students at the core,and ensuring the quality of international education,this research aims to provide insights and references for the internationalization of higher education in China.
