Retrospective Review and Future Prospects:The Domestic Visiting Scholars Program for Young University Faculty
The acceptance of domestic visiting scholars in higher education began in the mid-1980s,aiming to cultivate academic leaders and key academic personnel in general universities.This program is an important means of leveraging the teaching and research advantages of key universities and strengthening the construction of the teaching staff.By reviewing the development history of the domestic visiting scholar program over the past forty years and analyzing its characteristics,this paper addresses the shortcomings in the current domestic visiting scholar program for young teachers in areas such as institutional construction,organizational management,funding investment,training scale,and information technology development.Suggestions for improvement include strengthening institutional construction and standardizing the operation of visiting scholar programs;optimizing organizational management and improving assessment and evaluation systems;increasing funding investment and expanding the beneficiary group;and enhancing information technology development to improve management and service levels.
