The Persistence and Innovation of Student Financial Aid Work by University Counselors in the New Era
The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China emphasizes the need to"adhere to a people-centered approach to education,accelerate the construction of a high-quality education system,develop quality education,and promote educational equity."Student financial aid,particularly in colleges and universities,has always played an important role in promoting educational equity,and this"unchanging"aspect is determined by the essential attributes of socialism.With the completion of building a moderately prosperous society,absolute poverty has become a thing of the past.University financial aid work needs to adapt to the times:while maintaining the people-centered attribute,it must evolve from a broad,one-size-fits-all approach to targeted financial assistance;shift from a basic support model to a development-oriented model;and,in response to changing circumstances,move from explicit to implicit forms of financial support.This transformation aims to better serve the high-quality development of education in the new era.
