Design of a New Type of Multi-Channel Adjustable Seed Arranger
In response to the issues of high missed seeding rate and limited adaptability of single-unit design in existing mechanical seeders in China,we have developed a new type of horizontal disc seeder. This device consists of a fixed shaft,an upper main disc with lower three-disc combination structure, baffles, seed storage compartments, and a stepper motor.By utilizing the specific combination structure of the upper disc, main disc, and lower disc along with infrared modules for detection,it enables precise multi-channel seeding and reseeding for leguminous crops.Furthermore, this seeder offers strong scalability by allowing different sizes, shapes, and spacing of through-holes to accommodate various types of seeds and expand the number of rows seeded per pass.Additionally, the rotation coordination between the main disc and an upper disc equipped with multiple-sized through-holes allows for quick switching between seeding different crops. This seeder is particularly suitable for small to medium-scale legume planting operations in multiple crop rotation fields due to its low cost.Experimental results demonstrate that when setting the rotational speed of the seeding plate at 5-15 r/min,missed eeding rates range from 2.12%to 5.71%for peas and from 3.02%to 4.52%for mung beans, meeting agronomic requirements for legume planting. In addition,in the seed drop test, the difference of the leakage rate of the three ways of peas is larger than that of mung beans. Therefore,it can be speculated that the leakage rate can be reduced by changing the relationship between the radial interval of the three ways of holes and the seed diameter.
