Research progress on advanced oxidation process of percarbonate in water treatment
In recent years, the advanced oxidation process of activated percarbonate has been applied in the treatment of various organic pollutants in water due to its low cost, safety and stability, and is expected to become a new environment-friendly water treatment technology.Herein, the oxidative degradation mechanism of organic pollutants by activated percarbonate was introduced, followed by systematical review on the different activation methods and reaction mechanisms of percarbonate such as homogeneous activation, heterogeneous activation, physical activation, other activation methods. The application of advanced oxidation process of activated percarbonate in water treatment was then summarized with the emphasis on the research status in removal of organic pollutants in wastewater, membrane pollution control, sludge dewatering, sludge anaerobic digestion and so on.In the end,the existing problems and the future development direction were discussed.
