A Comparative Analysis of the Assessment Systems of Pre-service Teachers in the United States and Australia
Performance assessment is a current trend of pre-service teacher evaluation.Some countries,such as the United States and Australia,have incorporated pre-service teacher performance assessment into the teacher certification system.A comparative study of the assessment systems in the United States and Australia shows that they have the same task framework.Although they both adhere to evidence-based educational princi-ples and student-centered teaching philosophies,each system has its own performance objectives,grading rules,and specific task requirements.The research findings provide references and insights for the construction of Chi-nese pre-service teacher performance assessment system and the evaluation of their professional ability.
