The Evaluation of Student Engagement in Classroom Under the Background of New Liberal Arts——An Analysis of Videos of Discussion Teaching
The construction of new liberal arts is an important measure to improve teaching quality,which meets the needs of talent training in the current era,and brings an opportunity for classroom teaching reform in universities.Classroom teaching is the main position of talent cultivation and bears the important mission of building new liberal arts.Student engagement can reflect the effect of classroom teaching,and verify the real participation of students.Comprehensive attention and scientific evaluation research should be paid to student engagement in the new liberal arts classroom,which is conducive to the long-term develop-ment of the new liberal arts construction and has important practical significance for the new liberal arts teaching reform.The discussion teaching mode is the result of the teaching reform in universities.It is a student-centered and problem-oriented teaching model,bearing high exploration value for the study of student engagement process and individual student engagement differences.This study takes discussion teaching as an example,constructs the evaluation index system of student engagement from three dimensions:cognitive engagement,behavioral engagement and engagement,and uses hierarchical analysis to calculate the weights of each index.This study shows that with carefully designed teaching processes,the cultivation of students'awareness of action,and the focus on emotional education,student engagement in the new liberal arts class-room can be effectively promoted,so as to enhance the innovation and practice in the teaching of new liberal arts.
