In order to study the effects of different transplanting periods on chemical composition and neu-tral aroma components of tobacco,K326 was taken the as material and 5 transplanting dates,namely,treatment 1 ( March 4th ) ,treatment 2( March 9th) ,treatment 3( March 14th) ,treatment 4( March 19th) and treatment 5 ( March 24th) .The results showed that,with the delaying of transplanting dates,both sugar alkali ratio and ni-trogen bases ratio increased,among which treatment 5 possessed the highest total sugar and reduced sugar,it was significantly higher than those of other treatments;cembratriendiol and carotenoids showed a decrease trend with transplanting dates delayed.Treatment 1 had the highest total aroma content,treatment 5 had the lowest, treatment 2 had the medium,the performance was in the descending order of T1,T4,T2,T3,T5.Obviously,ear-lier transplanting is good for the formation of highly flavored type tobacco,late transplanting causes low quality. The best transplanting date in Fuzhou were from March 4th to March 9th.
