Temporal and Spatial Characteristics of Continuous Rain in Chenzhou and Its Circulation Analysis
Based on the daily rainfall and sunshine data from 10 meteorological stations in Chenzhou and NCEP/NCAR reanalys-is data from 1959 to 2022,the climatic and circulation characteristics of continuous rain were analyzed. The results showed that 63 continuous rain cases were occurred in Chenzhou during 1959 to 2022,which can be divided into four types:ural blocking high type, two troughs with one ridge type, low pressure type, and zonal wave type. The continuous rain was more frequent and intense in winter and spring, and more frequently occurred in the central area due to the influence of terrain. There was ob-vious cold and warm air convergence during the continuous rainy process. The cold high pressure of ural blocking high type and two troughs with one ridge type were strong and stable, and the speed of north wind was greater and the influence was more southward, thus the cold air was stronger. The cold high pressure of low pressure type and zonal wave type was weaker and move a lot, leading to the stronger southwesterly flow. The weather system in East Asia constantly guided cold air southward in the upper air and high latitudes, while the weather system in low latitudes moved and changed frequently, continuously transporting warm and humid airflow northward, and intersecting with the cold air southward from the north for a long time, forming continuous rainy weather in Chenzhou City.
