Agricultural meteorological observation is the foundation for the high-quality development of agricultural meteorolo-gy.The station network layout,talent team construction,observation methods,and technological investment in agricultural meteorological observation in Jiangxi Province were discussed by investigation and research.The operational status and existing issues of the agricultural meteorological observation services in Jiangxi Province were analyzed,aiming to provide a reference for the construction and future development direction of the agricultural meteorological observation system in the province.At present,a network system of agricultural meteorological observation stations has been established mainly consisted of conven-tional agricultural meteorological observation stations,and supplemented by specialty agricultural meteorological observation stations and agricultural meteorological experimental stations.However,there remain several issues,including a misalignment with the evolving demands of modern agricultural services,different levels of construction and management of agricultural me-teorological observation teams,outdated observation technologies,and an imbalance between the development of agricultural meteorological services and investment in agricultural meteorological observation.To accelerate the development of the agricul-tural meteorological observation system and enhance the modernization level in Jiangxi Province,efforts should be focused on the rational layout of the agricultural meteorological observation station network,the construction of a comprehensive talent team,the improvement of the observation system,and the exploration of establishing socialized observation.These measures will contribute to creating a modern agricultural meteorological observation system with Jiangxi characteristics,thereby sup-porting national food security and making significant contributions from Jiangxi.
