Rural Population in the Process of Chinese-style Modernization:Problems,Challenges and Countermeasures——A Comparative Analysis With Cities and Towns
The rural population problem brings five major challenges to Chinese-style modernization:the decrease of working-age population may lead to the shortage of labor resources for rural industrial development, and the widening gap between education level and urban level may lead to the shortage of high-quality development talents in rural areas. The increasingly prominent male marriage squeeze may lead to problems in rural marriage and family construction, the accelerated aging process may exacerbate the plight of rural old-age care, and the shortage of cultural construction talents may affect the construction of rural spiritual civilization. To deal with these challenges,we can orderly guide the return of migrant workers, steadily promote agricultural modernization, improve the education level of the rural population, make good use of existing talents, promote gender equality in rural areas,im-prove the happiness of marriage and family, expand the supply of rural elderly care services, improve the quality of elderly care services, mobilize multiple resources, and promote the construction of rural spiritual civilization. Its policy revelation is that the Chinese-style modernization has a long way to go,and its short slab is the modernization of agriculture and rural areas;to promote Chinese-style modernization,we need to explore and innovate provincial practices in rural areas, and pay attention to the regional level of towns.
