With the penetration of artificial intelligence in the field of education,computational thinking has once again set off a heat wave in the education and academic circles.The multidimensional test of college students'com-putational thinking is utilized to investigate and analyze the development characteristics of Chinese college students'computational thinking.The results show that the overall ability of college students'computational thinking is not optimistic,with few outstanding individuals and uneven five dimensional abilities.College students'computational thinking can be divided into three potential categories that are overall weak group,ordinary equilibrium group and local good group.The proportion of local good group of students in literature and history is significantly lower than that of science and engineering,and the proportion of local good group of female students is significantly lower than that of male students.The research provides ideas and references for the cultivation of computational thinking of college students in the intelligent era.
