The Characteristics of Soil Organic Carbon Stocks and Its Environmental Factors in the Main Producing Regions of Faba Bean(Vicia faba L.)in China
Soil serves as a crucial carbon reservoir.Enhancing organic carbon storage in agricultural soils is an effec-tive strategy for mitigating the rise in atmospheric CO2 levels and addressing global climate change. In this study, the faba bean producing regions in Northwest China,East China and North China are taken as the research objects, and the influence factors such as climate and soil properties are combined to explore the difference of surface soil carbon storage and the influence mechanism of environmental factors at the regional scale. The results show that the soil or-ganic carbon storage in the study area is jointly affected by climatic factors, biological factors and chemical factors, and the interaction between climatic factors and chemical factors have the most significant effect on carbon storage.Among the climatic factors, longitude, latitude and altitude have a significant impact on soil organic carbon storage in broad bean producing areas. The most important environmental factor contributing to soil organic carbon storage in the three broad bean producing areas is latitude, and soil organic carbon storage decreases with the increase of longi-tude and increases with the increase of altitude.Among the chemical factors,DOC,TN and pH have a significant effect on soil organic carbon storage in faba bean producing areas.Among the biological factors, soil qCO2 has a sig-nificant effect. In terms of regions, the carbon storage in Northwest China is mainly positively correlated with the mean annual precipitation(MAP).The soil organic carbon storage in North China and Northwest China is negative-ly correlated with the mean annual temperature(MAT).The chemical factor that has a relatively significant effect on soil carbon storage in East China is dissolved organic carbon(DOC).
