The Phytoplankton Community Structure and Its Relationship with Environmental Factors in Urban Streamways of Taihu Lake Basin
Community structure of phytoplankton and the associated environmental factors are investigated in 10 Urban streamways(Binhu District of Wuxi City)of Taihu Lake Basin in the summer of 2023,and the relationship between phytoplankton and environmental factors is analyzed by redundancy analysis(RDA).Results show that 66 species of phytoplankton are identified, including 27 species of Bacillariophyta,19 species of Chlorophyta,9 species of Cyanophyta,4 species of Cryptophyta,4 species of Euglenophyta and 3 species of dinoflagellate. There are 7 dominant species of phytoplankton(dominance index greater than 0.02),among the most dominant species is leptolyngbya sp.with the dominance index of 0.19,followed by Microcystis sp.with the dominance index of 0.12.The abundance of phytoplankton ranges from 1.76×106 to 3.19×108 cells·L-1,with an average value of 4.29× 107 cells·L-1.The phytoplankton bio diversity index ranges from 1.618 to 2.877 with an average value of 2.384,and the evenness index ranges from 0.256 to 0.516 with an average value of 0.406.As a result, the water of 10 streamways in Binhu District of Wuxi City is in a state of severe eutrophication according to the level of phytoplankton abundance,as well as the degree of dominance and the diversity index.RDA analysis shows that TSS and CODMn are the main environmental factors affecting the spatial distribution of phytoplankton community structure in 10 streamways of Binhu District of Wuxi City.
