Design and Experimental Study of New Coring Bits Used in Granite Formation
Core drilling is one of the most direct and effective geological exploration methods, which can directly reveal the geological body and its properties in front of the tunnel face.In order to improve the drilling efficiency of the coring bit in granite formation, according to inside and outside diameter requirement of the bit, five new coring bits are designed in this work. The cutting force and slag removal performance of different bits in granite formation are simulated and analyzed, and the drilling efficiency and core integrity of different coring bits are tested. The results show that the PDC bit has the highest drilling speed, but the core is broken, the cutting force is large, and the slag removal performance is poor. The surface set diamond bit has good slag removal performance and complete core, but the cutting force is large and the drilling efficiency is slow. The impregnated diamond bits have the high drilling speed, complete core, less stress, better slag removal performance, which are more suitable for drilling in granite formation.Furthermore, the deep sharp tooth diamond-impregnated bit has less wear and is the best bit.
