Risk Analysis and Management of Leptocybe invasa Fisher and La Salle
Based on pest risk analysis method, with qualitative and quantitative analysis, the paper analyzed the risk level of Leptocybe invasa Fisher and La Salle in China from five aspects:its distribution, the economical and ecological importance of it’s host plants, its potential damaged degree, its spreading possibility, and the risk control difficulty. The results showed that the comprehensive risk assessment value of the pest was 1.988, which belonged to a moderate degree and was close to a high-dangerous forest pest in China, with a seriously potential damage for the development of eucalyptus fast-growing and high-yield plantation. Therefore, it is suggested that the pest should be listed into the provincial supplementary quarantine forestry pests list in the main cultivation regions of eucalyptus. Some risk management measures should be taken, such as strengthening quarantine management and monitoring, choosing strong resistance varieties of eucalyptus or clonal afforestation, and strengthening tending fertilization and scientific control as well.
