Research progress of starch as a biopolymer encapsulating biocontrol agent to alleviate plant diseases
Biological control bacteria are a kind of safe alternative to chemical pesticides, but their stability and efficiency are low in free form formulations. However, the use of encapsulation technology can control the release of bioactive substances and reduce the dosage of use.Starch is an easily available, economically effective, edible, colorless and tasteless biopolymer, and can be used to make capsules.Although starch has poor mechanical properties,it can be mixed with other edible biopolymers to improve its performance.Meanwhile, the use of multiple antibacterial materials can produce synergistic effects. In this study,a new method of protecting agricultural products is introduced, which uses starch capsules to cover active compounds as encapsulation technology against plant pathogens to achieve the goal of protecting living things to control bacteria.
