Scanning electron microscope observation of external morphology of Tetranychus urticae Koch on strawberry
[Objective]This study was conducted to understand the external morphological and ultrastructural characteristics of Tetranychus urticae Koch on strawberry at various developmental stages, and provide references for the biological research and scientific control of strawberry mite.[Method]Individual samples of Tetranychus urticae Koch at different developmental stages were cultured from strawberry plants, and the external morphology of different developmental stages were observed by scanning electron microscope.[Result]Results showed that the egg was round. The larva had 3 pairs of feet, with anal setae and no genital setae, and the genital area was completely invisible. The nymph had 4 pairs of feet, but protonymph had no genital setae, and also the dermatoglyph at the end of the abdominal anal region were longitudinal, and the dorsal lobes appeared between the dorsal setae c1.Traces of the genital area and a pair of genital setae appeared on deutonymph, dorsal lobes appeared between sc1 and c1.The female adult was oval in shape, and lobes were found on both sides of the ventral setae from 3a to 4a and from 4a to ag.Male adult was oval, the dermatoglyph were roughly horizontal, without dorsal lobes.
