Occurrence, damage and control of Geisha distinctissima in mango orchards in the Nujiang River Basin
[Objective]This study was conducted to clarify the occurrence regularity, population distribution and control agents of Geisha distinctissima in mango orchards in the Nujiang River Basin,so as to provide a reference basis for the scientific monitoring and prevention and control of G.distinctissima.[Method]The occurrence regularity and damage degrees were analyzed by using the methods of sample plot investigation and indoor rearing. The spatial distribution pattern of the population was analyzed by using the aggregation index method.Partition control experiments were carried out to analyze the control effects of five pesticides.[Result]The population of G.distinctissima in mango orchards was evenly distributed. The population density was 1.98-5.19 individuals per branch, and the branch damage rate was 19.17%-86.11%.The damage degree increased with the decrease of altitude. It had two generations per year in the Nujiang River Basin. The peak period of adult occurrence and egg-laying was from June to July, and the peak period of nymph occurrence was from August to September. The corrected control effects of abamectin and chlorpyrifos were 90.29%and 90.24%,respectively,10 days after spraying, while the corrected control effects of imidacloprid, thiamethoxam and lambda-cyhalothrin were 70.97%,76.93%and 77.02%,respectively,10 days after spraying.[Conclusion]G.distinctissima is the major pest of mangoes in the Nujiang River Basin.Chemical pesticides should be reasonably selected and scientific monitoring, prevention and control should be carried out in combination with its occurrence pattern.
