Signature pedagogy is a universally applicable and stable teaching method in a specific discipline field.Applying the signature pedagogy in global competence education can help transcend the current practical dilemma of superficial learning and promote deep learning based on understanding.The signature pedagogy in global competence education needs to follow six core principles:clear global competence purpose,strong disciplinary foundation,attentive to learning demands,a case-based core,spiraling presence,and adaptive.This article takes the"research expedition pedagogy"and"purposeful comparisons pedagogy"as examples and combines teaching cases from two public schools in the United States to explore the application of signature pedagogy in global competence education.The study concludes that in the future,China should continuously improve the quality of global competence education in primary and secondary school by strengthening application research in classroom teaching practices,exploring indigenous signature pedagogies,conducting targeted training for teachers on pedagogies in global competence education,and promoting deep integration of classroom teaching and technology.
