A Study on the Overseas Chinese Newspapers in Southeast Asia and their Cultural(Literary)Communication(1900-1949)——Focusing on Overseas Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals in Hakka People
The majority of Chinese Overseas Chinese live in Southeast Asian countries.After the bitter experience of the pioneers,and through several generations of struggle,can they stand firm.In order to develop further,the overseas Chinese strive to consolidate their position in foreign countries in cultural,economic and political aspects.In terms of culture,overseas Chinese are actively developing the newspaper industry and strengthening cultural(literary)exchanges between China and the Southeast Asian countries where they live.They use newspapers,magazines to promote their patriotic ideas,actively spread Chinese culture overseas,such as literature,art,history,folklore and so on.They also bring the ideology and culture of Southeast Asian countries to China.It has continuously strengthened each kind of communication and the link between,the overseas and the mainland making the Chinese culture to have a long history.During the 1911 revolution,Sun Yat-sen's revolution was widely supported by the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia.In particular,Hakka people among the overseas Chinese have actively developed the newspaper industry and made great contributions to Chinese Revolution and social construction.
