Phosphorus Modified Pomelo Peel Biochar for Remediation of Pb2+Contaminated Soil
In this study,a low-cost phosphorus modified pomelo peel biochar(PFPPB)was prepared from pomelo peel,an agricultural waste, through a facile low-temperature one step method with phosphoric acid(H3 PO4),characterized by a series of methods, and used for the in-situ immobilization remediation of Pb2+contaminated soil. The results indicated that the addition of PFPPB to Pb2+contaminated soil could obviously improve its physicochemical properties. The results of toxicity characteristic leaching procedure(TCLP)indicated that the TCLP-extracted Pb2+was effectively reduced after passivated by PFPPB and the maximum immobilization efficiency of Pb2+could reach up to 51.89%.Phytotoxicity tests illustrated that PFPPB could improve the germinate rate of wheat seeds, promote seedling growth, and reduce Pb2+concentration in wheat seedling.
