Research on the Origin and Development of Chaoshan Dialect Sketches
Chaoshan comedy sketch,a form of short-performance art rooted in the Chaoshan dialect,integrates elements such as music,dance,drama and so on.It serves as a compressed representation of local culture in Chaoshan and an essential portal for studying Chaoshan culture.The present work delineates the precise definition of Chaoshan comedy sketch and inves tigates its genesis from various aspects including epoch,language,regional culture,socio-environment,and artistic creation.By mapping out its evolutionary trajectory,the development of Chaoshan comedy sketch can be roughly categorized into three stages:formation,maturation,and advancement.Based on its current developmental status,this paper pinpoints the challenges confronting Chaoshan comedy in the contemporary era,along with latent opportunities for growth.
