Analysis on Spatial-Temporal Variation and Driving Factors of Cultivated Land Use in Meizhou City
This paper analyzes the spatial-temporal changes in cultivated land use in Meizhou City from 2001 to 2020 by using the cultivated land use spatial differentiation measurement model.Based on this, the principal component analysis method is used to explore the driving factors of spatial differentiation of cultivated land. The results indicate that during the period from 2001 to 2020,the total area of cultivated land in Meizhou City showes an overall downward trend after fluctuating upward. From the perspective of spatial changes,Wuhua County in Meizhou City is a cultivated land-intensive area;Xingning City and Fengshun County are general cultivated land areas, while Meixian District, located in the urban area of Meizhou City, was still a general cultivated land area in 2001 but transformed into a sparse cultivated land area in 2020;Pingyuan County,Jiaoling County, and Dabu County in Meijiang District are sparse cultivated land areas. The reduction in cultivated land is mainly due to the conversion to construction land, and the conversion of cultivated land to construction land mainly occurs in the areas where the urban areas of each county and district expand to the peripheral rural areas.Population, economic, and social development factors are powerful driving forces for the transformation of cultivated land use and also the key factors affecting the spatial-temporal evolution of cultivated land use.
