Investigation on the quality of online meal replacements and study on illegal addition of weight loss drugs
To understand the quality status of online meal replacement,detect the illegal addition of weight loss drugs,in or-der to find hidden risks in the industry,buy 23 kinds of meal replacements and 7 kinds of jellies that claim to have bowel and laxative functions from major e-commerce platforms,according to the group standard T/CNSS 002-2019"Meal Re-placement",23 kinds of meal replacements are required to test the indicators of energy,protein,fat,essential components(di-etary fiber,VA,VB1,VB2,VC,niacin,folic acid,calcium,magnesium,iron,zinc),Sibutramine,N-monomethylsibutramine,N-dimethyl-sibutramine,ephedrine,fenfluramine and phenol were detected in 23 kinds of meal replacements and 7 kinds of jellies.The Results showed that energy,protein,fat,dietary fiber,calcium were detected in 23 kinds of online meal replacements,only 4 kinds of meal replacements were detected all the necessary components,19 kinds of meal replacements must be incomplete components,mainly VA,VB1,VB2,VC,niacin,iron,zinc among them one or several missing.Only one product fully met the nutritional requirements of some meal replacement in the meal replacement food group standard;A jelly tested positive for the illegal addition of the drug N-monomethylsibutramine.The results show that the quality of online meal replacements is not optimistic,as an emerging industry,meal replacements need to be further regulated,especially the need to introduce mandatory national standards to lead the quality.
