The Latecomer Challenges and Localized Solutions for the Modernization of Rural Education in the Context of Building a Strong Educational Nation
The modernization of rural education is key to achieving the goal of building a strong educational nation.A strong education system encompasses,in terms of its objectives, both a"fair and high-quality education system"and an"education system that fosters cultural confidence,"as well as,in terms of its values,an"innovation-driven education system"and one that is"deeply integrated with society."Within this context, rural education modernization is endowed with contemporary implications of promoting balanced and distinctive development, serving rural revitalization, and promoting local culture. However, due to its demonstrative, leapfrogging, and deficient latecomer attributes, rural education modernization faces multiple challenges, including the erosion of cultural characteristics in rural education, the disconnection between rural education and local industries, and difficulties in achieving rural educational goals due to the dual objectives of urban education. The common root of these challenges lies in the"non-localized"practice of rural education. Therefore,to address the latecomer challenges in rural education modernization,it is urgent to establish a"localized"practice philosophy and action orientation. This includes implementing localized education based on the inheritance and innovation of local culture, localized education based on rural industrial development, and localized education based on the connotative development of rural schools.
