How to Make Up for the Reading Disadvantage of Migrant Children?A Study Based on the Relationship between Reading Engagement and Reading Achievement
The disadvantage of reading will profoundly affect the academic development and future life of migrant children.In order to make up for this disadvantage,the research focuses on the influence of reading engagement on reading achievement.Based on the data of regional education quality monitoring,936 migrant children in 8th grade were selected and 2742 urban children were taken as reference to analyze the reading disadvantage of migrant children and the influencing factors to make up for it.The results show that the reading disadvantage of migrant children in practical,literary and classical Chinese is gradually expanding.Academic reading,online reading and cognitive reading monitoring strategies in reading behavior engagement can play a"compensation effect"to make up for the reading disadvantage of migrant children.The reading achievement of migrant children needs to be developed under the synergistic effect of academic reading,reading interest and reading monitoring strategies.Based on this,the teaching countermeasures include:attaching importance to the development and integration of reading resources,resolving the structural imbalance of teaching content;attach importance to the implementation of independent,cooperative and inquiry learning methods to make up for the basic shortcomings of migrant children;pay attention to the functions of diagnosis,motivation and feedback,and coordinate the substantive impact of reading factors.
