Objective To investigate the changes of bone morphogenetic protein(BMP-2),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and vitamin D receptor(VDR)levels in ligamentum flavum in patients with lumbar degenerative diseases(LDH,LSS).Methods Patients with LSS who underwent surgery in our hospital from Janu-ary 2019 to December 2021 were selected as LSS group(n=43),pa-tients with LDH as LDH group(n=47),and patients with lumbar fracture who underwent surgery in our hospital during the same peri-od were selected as control group(n=33).The expression levels of BMP-2,VEGF and VDR in LF of the three groups were observed. Results The expression of BMP-2 in LF of LDH and LSS group was significantly higher than that of control group(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in the expression of BMP-2 in LF between LDH and LSS groups(P>0.05).The expression of VEGF in LF of patients with LDH and LSS was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),and VEGF in LF of LSS group was significantly higher than that of LDH group(P<0.05).The VDR of LF in LDH and LSS group was lower than that in control group(P<0.05).The expression of VDR in LF of LSS group was significantly lower than that of LDH group(P<0.05).Conclusions There was high expression of BMP-2 in ligamenta flavum in LDH and LSS groups, the increase of VEGF and decrease of VDR in the ligamentum flavum of patients with LSS may be related to more serious inflammation and chronic degeneration.
