Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of PKP in the treatment of bone metastases from multi-segment lung cancer. Methods The clinical data of 28 lung cancer patients with thoracolumbar vertebral metastasis who received PKP treat-ment from May 2020 to April 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.Conduct visual analogue scale(VAS),quality of life index(QOL),and imaging assessments on the study subjects were preformed, and safety analysis was conducted. Results The 28 patients in this study successfully completed the surgery under local anesthesia, without adverse events such as pulmonary embolism, bone cement leakage, low blood pressure, infection, anesthesia accidents, and no occurrence of nerve or spinal cord compression.Three patients died of worsening lung cancer 4-6 months after surgery, while the remaining 25 patients completed follow-up,with an average follow-up of(11.53±1.75)months.Compared with preoperative follow-up,the VAS pain score decreased at 3 days,3 months,6 months, and 12 months after surgery(P<0.05);The QOL score of quality of life and vertebral height compression rate were significantly im-proved,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusions PKP treatment for multi-segment lung cancer with bone metastasis has low risk, minimal trauma, and good safety. It has significant pain relief and can effectively restore vertebral height and strength. It has a definite therapeutic effect on patients with lung cancer with spinal bone metastasis and is worthy of clinical promotion and application.
