On the Academic Research in China's Adult Education Based on a Review of Its Century-Old Academic History
The century-old academic development in China's adult education experienced such periods as germination,rupture,transformation,exploration,and deepening.In the century-old changes,the researching force constantly increased and tended to be more professionalized;disciplinary knowledge became richer,and the theoretical system was improved;disciplinary research was gradually deepened,and tended to be systemized;and multi-dimensional and developmental features were presented,such as continuously updating and expanded research topics,constantly interactive international research and local practices,increasingly standardized and scientific research methods,the increasingly improved and systematic research system,and significantly increasing and high-quality research results.However,there are still problems,such as the research approaches highlighting reference and imitation,lack of innovative and independent research,excessive applied research but insufficient basic research,and the closed research ecology.In the future,academic research in China's adult education needs to be bred in the interaction between theory and practice,innovated in the connection between inheritance and transformation,deepened in the synergy of elements and structures,and developed in the integration of international and local research.
