Thirty Years of Research into"New Basic Educology":Historical Retrospect,Evolutionary Logic and Contemporary Contributions
Starting in the 1990s,the research on"New Basic Education"experienced five stages of development:exploratory research, developmental research, formative research, deep school-rooted research, and ecological promotion-based research. It continues to nurture its unique educational mission and spiritual traits by means of designing new future images in the spirit of the times, creating new schools to change the way teachers and students live, and reconstructing the system of educational concepts based on twelve ideas contained in four perspectives. The research on"New Basic Education"has a unique evolutionary logic:In terms of values,it advocates the consciousness of active reform, and stimulates internally-driven needs for development;in terms of action methods,it advocates moderately prioritizing theories and exploring deeply immersive research;in terms of viewpoints in research,it advocates returning the classroom to students and guiding teachers to consciously promote the practice of research-based reform;in terms of thinking modes,it advocates the two-way construction of theory and practice, and creates the interactive logic of transformation;and in terms of organizational structure,it advocates enhancing the radiation effects of regional ecology and creating a community of cooperative research.Over the past three decades, the research on"New Basic Education"has unremittingly adhered to the consciousness of reform-oriented theories, academic research,a symbiotic team, and a school of thought. It created a set of reform-oriented theories in response to the demands for contemporary education,a group of transformation schools featuring connotative development,a path of reform by a symbiotic team, and a school of thought rooted in local"life-practice"educology,showcasing Chinese experience, confidence and wisdom in the practice-based reform of basic education schools.
