教育何以促进共同富裕——基于2003-2020年省级面板数据的实证检验

教育是实现共同富裕的重要机制.利用2003-2020年省级面板数据,实证检验教育对共同富裕的影响及作用机制.研究发现,教育对共同富裕具有稳健的促进效应.教育通过提高税收收入、促进人口流动、提升创业活力及促进高水平就业四条路径促进共同富裕.我国教育对共同富裕的促进效应具有鲜明的地区异质性和教育层级异质性.东部和中部地区教育对共同富裕存在显著的促进效应,而西部地区教育对共同富裕无显著影响.中等教育显著促进了地区共同富裕水平的提高,而初等教育和高等教育对共同富裕无显著影响.为此,我们要始终坚持优先发展教育事业,以教育高质量发展赋能共同富裕;优化教育资源配置结构,推动西部地区教育与共同富裕协同发展;加大中等教育发展力度,改善初等教育和高等教育对实现共同富裕的推动作用.
How Education Promotes Common Prosperity:An Empirical Test Based on Provincial Panel Data Between 2003 and 2020
Education is an important mechanism for the achievement of common prosperity.This study,based on provincial panel data between 2003 and 2020,empirically tests the effect of education on common prosperity.The results show the following:Education has a steadily promotive effect on common prosperity;it promotes common prosperity through four channels:increasing tax revenue,promoting population mobility,enhancing entrepreneurial vitality,and improving high-level employment;the promotive effect of China's education on common prosperity significantly varies according to different areas and educational levels;education in East China and Central China has a significantly promotive effect on common prosperity,while education in West China has no significant effect on common prosperity;and secondary education significantly promotes regional common prosperity,while primary education and higher education have no significant effect on common prosperity.Therefore,we must prioritize the development of education,and empower common prosperity through the high-quality development of education;optimize the allocation structure of educational resources,and promote the coordinated development of education and common prosperity in West China;and make more efforts to develop secondary education,and enhance the role of primary education and higher education in their promotion of common prosperity.
