The Social Recognition of Vocational Education:A Theoretical Model and Enhancement Strategies
Improving the social recognition of vocational education is the"lifeline"of the high-quality development of vocational education.This study constructs a theoretical model for the social recognition of vocational education,based on the qualitative research method of grounded theory,the random sampling of certain students from vocational colleges,their parents and teachers,and relevant interest groups such as enterprises and the public,and strictly-coded interview data.The theoretical model involves the recognition of such dimensions as culture,efficacy,systems,organization,modes,identity,and supply,which work together and integrate into social recognition serving as the foothold.Under the guidance of the goal of building a powerful country in education,we need to accumulate deep cultural recognition,shape strong efficacy-based recognition,develop sound organization-based recognition,cultivate rich identity-based recognition,and achieve rich supply-based recognition so as to jointly boost social recognition,and draw a blueprint for the high-quality development of modern vocational education.
