The Re-understanding of the Theory of Family Education:A Hypothetical Framework
With a deep understanding of education based on various disciplines and from different perspectives,family education theoretically tends to focus on children's life experience and self-experience identity.This study,based on the general question of how children grow or change in a family,gives 12 basic assumptions about family education,which include three parts.In family education as a type of life education,there is a theoretical framework for the"education of things"(children's experiences of events and activities).In family education as a product of modernization,there are distinctive modern features in family dynamics,child development,class distinctions,and the irrationality in rational educational calculation,and these features result from the paradox of the modern family,and the nature of the family serving as an intermediary organization affected by macro social factors.In family education as a social process,parenting functions by returning to the role of the family in children's life inside and outside the family so as to achieve the goal of fostering children's autonomous personality,and the change of children is the process witnessing the operation of the psychological mechanism for social learning affected by various interactive factors in family life under the family system.The re-understanding of the theory of family education helps to return to the modern role of family education,and make family education attain an independent and symbolic significance.
