In order to study the effect of micromorphology of zinc oxide on photocatalytic performance, zinc oxide with different micromorphology was prepared by direct precipitation method using zinc nitrate as zinc source and sodium hydroxide as precipitator. The phase structure of zinc oxide was analyzed by X-ray diffractometer(XRD),indicating that this method can successfully prepare zinc oxide. The micromorphology of prepared zinc oxide powder was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results showed that with the increase of the molar ratio of sodium hydroxide to zinc nitrate, the zinc oxide powder showed spherical,flower-like and rod-like configurations, respectively. The degradation experiment showed that when the molar ratio of sodium hydroxide and zinc nitrate was 4,the prepared zinc oxide powder had the best photocatalytic performance. When the pH was 6 and the mass concentration of zinc oxide was 0.15 g/L,the degradation efficiency of lemon yellow could reach 99.47%within 50 min.
