The dilemma and path of protecting the personal information of network users in cross-border e-commerce in China
As a new mode of foreign trade,cross-border e-commerce plays an increasingly important role in export and import trade. It is an important embodiment of China's adherence to the new development pattern of"institutional development"which has important promotion value for China's healthy economic development. However,in the process of cross-border e-commerce business, the personal information protection of network users has encountered great challenges, facing many problems such as backward standards of personal information protection, ambiguous legal liability attributes, lack of mandatory rules, and defects in the personal information security protection system.Personal information leakage incidents occur frequently, and the protection situation is grim.Based on this, under the guidance of the concepts of equal emphasis on administrative supervision and autonomy of cross-border e-commerce platforms,co-ordination between domestic legislative amendments and international rules, personal information protec-tion standards are improved, legal responsibility attributes are clarified, mandatory rules are supplemen-ted,and personal information security protection system is improved,so that personal information of on-line users can be fully protected and the cross-border e-commerce industry can be promoted to further flourish.
