Yan Wenjiang Ancestral Temple is the material carrier of the local unique traditional culture inheritance,which is located in Boshan,Shandong.At present,Yan Wenjiang Ancestral Temple has attracted the attention of many scholars,but there has been no definitive judgment on the construction time of main hall of Yan Wenjiang Ancestral Temple.The combing and clarification of relevant historical documents and excavations of surrounding ancient architectural sites,especially the discovery of the plinth remains of Yan Wenjiang Ancestral Temple has provided strong evidence for the investigation of its construction date.In this study,the plinth remains were dissected and sequenced,and the original building time of the main hall can be accurately inferred by comparing the relics of the pillar foundation with those of surrounding ancient architectural sites.According to the plinth relics and other related his-torical documentation,it is speculated that the main hall of Yan Wenjiang Ancestral Temple was built around 692-690 BC.
