The"the eight defiles of the Taihang Mountains"was a major communication channel con-necting Shanxi,Hebei and Henan in ancient China,playing an important role in the military,economy,culture and other fields,with high research value in the protection and development of histori-cal and cultural resources in the region.This paper combs the relevant research literature,figures out the"the eight defiles of the Taihang Mountains"route path,spatial characteristics and linear cultural heri-tage characteristics,and ensures the line and spatial characteristics,starting point,and important nodes and villages along the route.From the perspective of linear culture,combined with the concept of the whole system,this paper proposes protection strategies such as constructing cultural heritage routes,delineating cultural heritage protection areas,and introducing modern protection technologies.Taking linear cultural heritage protection of Taihang Mountain Tianjingguan Village as an example,this paper puts forward targeted protection measures to provide a new path for cultural development and dissemina-tion in this area.
