Based on the whole-process tracking investigation of 236 home modi-fication for the elderly(HMFE)in Shanghai,this paper focuses on analyzing the condi-tions and needs for HMFE from the dimen-sions of"environment"and"people".It is found that there are problems in the current HMFE services.Finally,this paper puts forward suggestions on accurately drawing demand portrait,improving the construc-tion technology,enriching the categories of assistive products,training professional personnel and integrating related supporting resources.
