The implications of the roadmap to decarbonise Ireland's built environment for reducing the"embodied carbon"of buildings in China
The Ireland government re-evaluated the sequence and content of projects in the National Development Plan(NDP),priori-tizing necessary housing,adjust-ing projects may increase carbon emissions.Ireland maximizes the utilization of existing building stock to reduce embodied carbon emis-sions from new buildings.Ireland reduces the carbon emission inten-sity of buildings through mandatory disclosure of building carbon emis-sions data, setting carbon emission limit standards, optimizing building technical specifications and poli-cies.These policy tools and expe-riences are valuable references for China, the paper proposes six spe-cific measures to reduce embodied carbon emissions from buildings.
