Study on Carbon Emission Calculation and Reduction Path of Ready-mixed Concrete
Ready-mixed concrete,as a major building material, contributes significantly to carbon emissions, making its green and low-carbon development crucial in the context of urban renewal. This study focuses on C15~C60 ready-mixed concrete, conducting carbon emission calculations and analysis based on life cycle theory. The findings indicate that carbon emissions of ready-mixed concrete increase with higher strength grades. The carbon emissions across the four life cycle stages of ready-mixed concrete are ranked as follows:raw material production>raw material transportation>concrete transportation>concrete production, with raw material production contributing 77.53%to 91.75%of the total carbon emissions.Accordingly, carbon reduction paths are proposed, focusing on design, production, transportation, management, and carbon utilization and sequestration techniques,to enhance the carbon sequestration potential of concrete.
