With the continuous progress of urbanization,municipal road reconstruction and expansion projects are becoming increasingly frequent.To systematically explore traffic diversion strategies during such projects,the Tongyun West Road project in Tongzhou District,Beijing,is used as a reference.A scientific and rational diversion plan,along with a series of safeguard measures,is proposed while adhering to the"occupy one,return one"principle.These measures include improving diversion roads based on the"combination of permanent and temporary"principle,adding lanes in channelized sections,setting up traffic safety facilities for road occupation,traffic monitoring and optimization,and managing night construction.These actions provide a reference for similar future projects.
