The Renovation and Reuse of Modern Architectural Remains of Beijing Feb.7th Locomotive Factory
In the new stage of overall urban construction shifting from"large-scale incremental development"to"quality enhancement and renovation of stock",it is a key research topic to reasonably protect and utilize industrial architectural remains and sustain them.As the cradle of the modern Chinese workers'movement,Feb.7th Locomotive Factory is being created into a functional zone for technological and cultural industries step by step.Based on a case study of the renovation of modern architectural remains of Feb.7th Locomotive Factory,this paper deeply interpreted specific measures and design strategies in the aspects of spatial reorganization and functional updating of modern architectural remains in the factory,and summarized an optimized approach for the regeneration and renovation of industrial architectural remains.It is hoped that the study can provide operable and generalizable ideas and methods for the protection and reuse of industrial architectural remains in the future.
