One of the core aspects of project management is controlling the cost objectives to ensure that the project's functions are realized,meeting the requirements of users and stakeholders.Cost review is directly related to the project's economic benefits and cost control.Following the abolition of qualification approvals for engineering cost consulting firms in China,there has been a shift from emphasizing preliminary qualifications and procedural approvals to enhancing the quality of project consulting and the professional conduct of individuals.In this context,market competition in cost consulting has intensified,making the improvement of cost review quality in construction projects even more crucial.This paper discusses the necessity of cost review,the methods of cost review,and the critical and challenging points in the process of cost compilation.Furthermore,it analyzes and proposes corresponding solutions,aiming to provide a reference for improving the quality of cost review in the design phase of construction projects.
